강릉시장애인종합복지관, 발달장애인 요양보호사 전문교육 기관 '쾌거'

<브레이크뉴스 강릉 = 남상훈 기자> 강릉시장애인종합복지관이 지역 내 발달장애인들의 든든한 직업적 자립을 돕는 전초기지로 우뚝 섰다.

14일 강릉시장애인종합복지관에 따르면, 한국장애인개발원이 주관하는 '2026년 발달장애인 요양보호사 전문교육 사업'의 전국 공모에서 강원·충청권을 대표하는 강원 지역 최종 수행기관으로 선정되는 쾌거를 안았다.

이 사업은 발달장애인들의 직무 역량을 한층 끌어올리고, 안정적이고 장기적인 일자리 창출을 지원하기 위해 마련됐다. 강릉시장애인종합복지관은 그동안 발달장애인 요양보호사 보조 일자리 사업을 성공적으로 이끌어온 노하우와 지역 요양기관과의 탄탄한 협력 네트워크를 바탕으로 실질적인 취업 성과를 내온 점을 높이 평가받았다.

이번 수행기관 선정에 따라 복지관은 오는 4월부터 9월까지 약 6개월간 참여자들을 대상으로 심도 있는 전문 교육 과정에 돌입한다. 요양보호사로서 갖춰야 할 필수 직무 교육은 물론, 생생한 현장 실습과 맞춤형 취업 연계까지 아우르는 단계별 '원스톱' 프로그램을 통해 발달장애인들의 사회 참여와 고용 안정을 적극 견인할 계획이다.

최상윤 강릉시장애인종합복지관장은 "이번 공모 선정을 통해 발달장애인들이 전문성을 겸비한 훌륭한 인재로 성장해 지역사회에 안정적으로 뿌리내릴 수 있는 발판을 마련하게 되어 매우 기쁘다"며, "교육이 단순한 수료에 그치지 않고 실질적인 취업과 자립으로 꽃피울 수 있도록 막중한 책임감을 갖고 사업을 운영하겠다"고 포부를 밝혔다.
