<브레이크뉴스 원주 = 김일웅 기자> 원주시 소공인들의 제조 혁신을 이끄는 원주시소공인복합지원센터가 소속 숙련기술인의 우수한 역량을 대외적으로 증명하며 지역 기술 인프라의 위상을 높였다.
14일 원주시에 따르면, 센터 소속 오형석 책임 매니저는 지난 6일부터 10일까지 열린 '2026년 강원특별자치도 기능경기대회' 기계설비 CAD 직종 부문에서 당당히 동메달을 수상했다.
오형석 책임 매니저는 삼성SDI와 한국생산기술연구원 등에서 쌓은 탄탄한 연구개발(R&D) 경력을 바탕으로 센터에 합류한 베테랑 숙련기술인이다. 현재 센터에서 지역 소공인들을 위한 설계 지원, 시제품 제작, 첨단 장비 활용 지원 등 제조 현장의 경쟁력을 강화하는 핵심 기술 인프라 지원 업무를 도맡고 있다.
이번 수상으로 오 매니저는 오는 8월 22일부터 인천에서 개최되는 '제61회 전국기능경기대회'에 강원 지역 대표로 참가해 다시 한번 기량을 겨룰 예정이다.
원주시 관계자는 "이번 성과는 개인의 영예를 넘어 원주시소공인복합지원센터가 보유한 기술 인력의 우수성을 객관적으로 입증한 사례"라며, "앞으로도 숙련기술인들이 마음껏 역량을 펼칠 수 있는 환경을 조성하고, 지역 제조 산업을 이끌 기술 인재 양성에 지원을 아끼지 않겠다"고 밝혔다.
