[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 의령군이 인공지능(AI) 기술을 활용해 그동안 역사 속에 가려져 있던 의병장들의 얼굴을 처음으로 구현하고, 이들의 활약과 의미를 영상으로 재구성해 공개한다.
군은 문헌과 사료를 바탕으로 AI 기술을 통해 17장령의 얼굴을 고증·구현하고, 각 인물의 전공과 역할, 생전의 어록까지 함께 담아 실감형 콘텐츠로 풀어냈다.
이를 통해 의병의 역사를 한 사람의 이야기가 아닌, 역사 속에 숨은 인물들의 이야기로 확장할 계획이다.
특히 이번 콘텐츠에는 낙동강 방어에 공을 세운 영장 윤탁, 군수 지원을 총괄한 도총 박사제, 의병 모집에 앞장선 수병장 오운, 선봉에 나선 배맹신 등 그동안 이름조차 널리 알려지지 않았던 의병장들의 활약상이 함께 담겼다.
이번 연출은 홍의장군 곽재우 중심으로 알려져 온 의병 서사를 넘어, 함께 싸운 17장령까지 조명하며 ‘의병은 한 사람이 아닌 모두의 역사’라는 메시지를 담고 있다.
해당 콘텐츠는 제51회 홍의장군축제 개막을 알리는 오는 16일 오후 7시 의병탑 앞 혼불안치식에서 선보인다.
혼불이 의병탑에 안치되는 순간, 탑 전면에 곽재우 장군을 비롯한 의병장들이 빛으로 구현되며 전장으로 나아가는 장면이 웅장한 음악과 함께 펼쳐질 예정이다.
의병탑은 임진왜란 당시 홍의장군 곽재우와 휘하 17장령의 업적을 기리기 위해 세워진 상징물로, 탑 중앙의 18개 고리는 이들을 의미한다.
그러나 그동안 축제와 역사 조명은 곽재우 장군 중심으로 이뤄져 왔다.
오태완 군수는 “임진왜란 승리의 또 다른 주인공은 이름도 얼굴도 없이 살다 죽었지만 모두가 불꽃이었던 의병들”이라며 “이번 연출은 그동안 충분히 조명되지 못했던 의병장들의 존재를 오늘의 기술로 다시 비추는 의미 있는 시도”라고 말했다.
한편 이날 혼불안치식은 북 울림 퍼포먼스와 횃불 전달, 의병탑 안치 의식으로 이어지며 축제의 시작을 알리는 대표 프로그램으로 마련된다.
제51회 홍의장군축제는 오는 16일부터 19일까지 의령군민공원과 충익사 일원에서 열린다.
