[브레이크뉴스경기남부=용인 이현준기자] (가칭)용인스마트팜협동조합이 “모현의 미래를 위해 실력 있는 시장이 필요하다”며 더불어민주당 현근택 용인시장 후보 지지를 선언했다.
현 후보는 지난 14일 ‘현근택의 근사한 캠프’(선거사무소)에서 (가칭)용인스마트팜협동조합(윤영수 이사장) 발기인 및 지지자들과 정책 차담회를 갖고, 스마트농업 활성화와 모현읍 발전 방안에 대해 의견을 나눴다.
현 후보는 “스마트팜은 농업의 경쟁력을 높이고, 청년과 미래세대가 참여할 수 있는 새로운 농업 모델”이라며 “도농복합도시인 용인에서 시민들이 직접 스마트팜 협동조합을 준비하는 것은 매우 의미 있는 시도”라고 말했다.
이어 “모현은 서울·분당 접근성이 뛰어나고, 용인 반도체 클러스터와 연계한 배후도시로서 성장 가능성이 큰 지역”이라며 “모현을 단순한 외곽지역이 아니라 첨단농업과 미래산업이 함께 성장하는 용인의 새로운 거점으로 발전시킬 방안을 적극 검토하겠다”고 밝혔다.
