더불어민주당 대전광역시당이 제9회 전국동시지방선거에 나설 기초단체장 및 광역의원 후보 선출을 위한 경선 결과를 발표하며 본격적인 선거 체제에 돌입했다.
15일 밤 민주당 대전시당에 따르면, 관심을 모았던 대덕구청장 후보 경선에서 김찬술 예비후보가 승리하며 최종 후보로 공천을 확정 지었다. 김 예비후보는 당내 경선을 통해 본선 진출권을 거머쥐며 대덕구 탈환을 위한 행보에 나서게 됐다.
반면, 후보 간 접전이 펼쳐진 동구와 서구는 결선 투표를 통해 최종 후보를 가리게 됐다.
3인 경선으로 치러진 동구청장 선거는 윤기식 예비후보와 황인호 예비후보가 다시 한번 맞붙는다. 두 후보는 치열한 경합 끝에 과반 득표자가 나오지 않으면서 재경선을 통한 최종 승부를 예고했다.
가장 많은 7명의 예비후보가 출전해 뜨거운 경쟁을 벌였던 서구청장 경선 역시 결선 체제로 전환됐다.
경선 결과 전문학 예비후보와 신혜영 예비후보가 최종 결선 투표에 진출했다.
