이번 사업은 지역 간 균형발전을 도모하고 주민들에게 한층 높은 수준의 정주 여건을 제공하기 위해 추진되며, 총사업비 65억 원을 투입해 오는 12월 준공을 목표로 하고 있다.
군은 지난해 ‘응천 호안 정비사업’과 ‘응천 십리벚꽃길 관광명소화 사업’을 완료하며 주민들로부터 큰 호응을 얻은 바 있다.
이번 명소화 사업은 응천 일대 인프라의 유기적 연계로 주민들이 체감할 수 있는 정주 환경 개선을 통해 지역사회에 새로운 활력을 불어넣기 위해 마련됐다.
