배 예비후보는 16일 “K2 후적지를 최소 200만 평에서 최대 500만 평 규모의 미래지식 산업단지로 조성할 계획”이라며 “두바이나 싱가포르처럼 규제를 대폭 완화하는 모델을 도입하겠다”고 밝혔다.
그는 이번 개발 구상에 대해 “동구의 지도를 새롭게 그릴 기회”라고 강조했다.
이어 “용도 및 업종 제한을 크게 완화하는 무규제 원칙을 적용해 기업들의 자유로운 투자와 확장을 유도하고, 글로벌 기업 유치에 나서겠다”고 설명했다.
또한 배 예비후보는 “세계적인 기업들이 스스로 찾아오는 경제특구를 만들고, 청년들이 떠나지 않는 동구로 변화시키겠다”고 포부를 밝혔다.
유치 산업 분야로는 첨단 제조, 인공지능, 바이오, 모빌리티, 연구개발 등을 언급했다.
