충남 태안군이 빅데이터 분석을 통해 지역 관광의 체질을 개선하고 지방소멸 위기에 대응하는 한국관광공사 주관 공모 사업에 선정되며 체류형 관광 거점 조성에 탄력을 받게 됐다.
태안군은 한국관광공사와 한국지방재정공제회가 공동으로 추진하는 「2026 빅데이터와 함께하는 똑똑한 컨설팅」 공모 사업에 최종 선정됐다고 17일 밝혔다.
특히 태안군은 이번에 선정된 전국 10개 지자체 중 유일하게 ‘지방소멸대응기금 사업 연계’ 분야에 이름을 올려 사업의 독창성과 실효성을 인정받았다.
이번 공모 선정에 따라 군은 현재 지방소멸대응기금을 투입해 추진 중인 ‘만리포 워케이션센터 조성사업’을 핵심 연계 과제로 설정했다. 이를 통해 단순한 시설 건립을 넘어, 빅데이터를 기반으로 한 과학적인 운영 전략을 수립할 수 있게 됐다.
태안군은 만리포 워케이션센터를 중심으로 서핑, 해양치유 등 지역의 특화된 관광 자원을 결합한 ‘체류형 관광 활성화 방안’을 제시했다.
향후 진행될 컨설팅을 통해 태안군은 빅데이터 심층 분석, 생활인구 확대, 마케팅 고도화 등과 같은 전략을 구체화할 방침이다.
태안군은 이번 공모 선정으로 향후 추진될 관광 실증사업에 참여할 수 있는 유리한 고지도 선점했다.
태안군은 컨설팅 결과를 바탕으로 만리포 권역을 대한민국을 대표하는 체류형 해양관광 거점으로 육성하고, 이를 지역 경제 활성화와 지방소멸 위기 극복의 핵심 동력으로 삼겠다는 계획이다.

Taean County in South Chungcheong Province has gained momentum in establishing a hub for stay-type tourism after being selected for a public competition organized by the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) aimed at improving the fundamentals of local tourism and responding to the crisis of local extinction through big data analysis.
Taean County announced on the 17th that it was finally selected for the "2026 Smart Consulting with Big Data" public competition, jointly promoted by the Korea Tourism Organization and the Korea Local Government Finance Association.
