대전광역시의회 이한영 의원(서구6, 국민의힘)이 장애인 권익 향상과 복지 증진에 기여한 공로를 인정받아 지역 장애인 단체로부터 감사패를 받았다.
이 의원은 ‘제46회 장애인의 날’ 기념행사에서 (사)대전시지체장애인협회 서구지회(지회장 권준석)로부터 장애인들의 삶의 질 개선을 위한 헌신적인 의정활동을 높이 평가받아 수여자로 선정됐다.
이번 수상은 이 의원이 평소 현장 중심의 행보를 통해 장애인들의 실질적인 애로사항을 정책에 반영해 온 결과로 풀이된다.
특히 이 의원은 ‘대전광역시교육청 장애인 고용촉진 조례안’을 대표 발의하는 등 공공부문 내 장애인 일자리 확대와 안정적인 고용 환경 조성을 위한 제도적 장치를 마련하는 데 주도적인 역할을 했다는 평가를 받고 있다.
또한 정기적인 간담회와 시설 방문을 통해 장애인 정책의 사각지대를 발굴하고, 이를 시정에 적극 건의하는 등 소외계층을 위한 실효성 있는 대안 제시에 집중해 왔다.
권준석 지회장은 “이한영 의원은 지역 장애인들의 고충에 진심으로 귀 기울이며 피부에 와닿는 변화를 이끌어온 인물”이라며 감사의 뜻을 전했다.
