군은 올해 상반기 이미 2건의 공모사업에 선정된 데 이어 이번 신규 사업까지 포함해 총 3건, 총사업비 3억4천만 원 규모의 문화예술 사업 추진 기반을 마련했다고 밝혔다.

이번에 선정된 사업은 지역 간 문화 소비 격차 해소와 주민 문화 향유 기회 확대를 목표로 하는 ‘콘텐츠 지역 유통 지원사업’이다. 성주군은 이를 통해 다양한 장르의 공연을 선보이며 군민들에게 수준 높은 문화 콘텐츠를 제공할 계획이다.

특히 군은 기존 공모사업의 안정적인 운영 경험과 차별화된 기획력을 바탕으로 심사 과정에서 높은 평가를 받은 것으로 알려졌다. 이번 선정으로 지역 공연예술 활성화는 물론 예술인들의 창작 활동 기반 확대에도 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.

선정된 각 사업은 하반기부터 순차적으로 추진되며, 성주문화예술회관 공연장을 중심으로 뮤지컬과 오페라, 연극 등 총 8개 프로그램이 운영될 예정이다.
