이에 따라 혁신성모병원은 4월 14일부터 본격 운영에 들어갔다.
진료 시간은 △평일 야간(18:00~21:00) △토요일(13:30~18:00) △일요일, 공휴일(09:00~18:00)로, 주 28시간 동안 소아 환자를 위한 진료 서비스를 제공한다.
그동안 군은 관내에 달빛어린이병원이 없어 야간이나 휴일에 소아 환자가 발생할 경우 인근 지역으로 이동하거나 응급실을 이용해야 하는 불편이 있었다.
이번 사업 선정으로 지역 내 소아 진료 접근성이 크게 개선돼 보호자들의 이동 부담과 진료 공백이 해소될 것으로 기대된다.
또한 군은 지난 1월부터 심야 시간대(21:00~24:00)에 운영되는 공공심야약국(진천읍 건강종합약국)을 지정해 운영 중으로, 이번 야간·휴일 진료와 연계해 진료부터 약 조제까지 이어지는 의료서비스 체계를 구축하게 됐다.
