대전시가 긴급차량의 골든타임을 확보하고 일반 운전자들의 안전한 양보 운전을 돕기 위해 인공지능과 정보통신기술을 접목한 혁신적인 교통 서비스를 선보인다.
대전시는 경찰청, 한국도로교통공단, 카카오모빌리티와 손잡고 긴급차량의 실시간 위치와 우선신호 정보를 내비게이션 앱으로 제공하는 ‘긴급차량 접근 정보 안내 서비스’를 20일부터 전국 최초로 시작한다.
이번 서비스는 운전자에게 소방차나 구급차의 접근을 미리 알려 사고를 방지하고 신속한 출동 환경을 조성하기 위해 마련됐다.
대전시는 그동안 5개 소방서와 9개 주요 출동 구간에 긴급차량 우선신호 시스템을 도입해 운영해 왔다. 하지만 우선신호가 작동할 때 일반 차량 운전자들이 상황을 알지 못해 갑작스러운 신호 대기에 당황하거나, 긴급차량의 경로를 미리 비워주지 못하는 등의 한계가 있었다.
이를 해결하기 위해 시는 긴급차량의 위치 및 신호 정보를 경찰청 도시교통정보센터를 거쳐 민간 플랫폼인 카카오내비로 실시간 전송하는 시스템을 구축했다. 이제 운전자들은 내비게이션 화면과 음성 안내를 통해 주변에 긴급차량이 오고 있다는 사실과 이동 경로를 미리 인지할 수 있게 된다.
