[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 양산시는 21일 6.25전쟁에 참전해 공을 세운 故 권오수 하사의 자녀 권용득씨(평산동 거주)에게 국방부장관을 대신해 훈장증과 화랑무공훈장을 전수했다.

국방부와 육군에서는 지난 2019년부터 ‘6.25무공훈장 찾아주기 조사단’을 운영하며 6.25전쟁 당시 전공으로 훈장 수여가 결정됐으나, 긴박한 전장 상황으로 실물 훈장과 증서를 받지 못한 공로자와 유가족을 찾는 ‘6.25전쟁 무공훈장 찾아주기 사업’을 시행하고 있다.

이번 故 권오수 하사에게 수여된 훈장은 화랑무공훈장으로, 전쟁 당시 육군 9사단 29연대 상병으로 복무하며 세운 공을 인정받아 훈장 수여가 결정됐지만 그동안 훈장이 전달되지 못했었다.

이날 무공훈장 전수식에 참석한 자녀 권용득 님은 “오랜 시간이 흘렀지만 이제라도 아버지의 명예를 되찾게 되어 감사하다”고 소감을 전했다.
