브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 한화그룹이 제56회 ‘지구의 날’을 맞아 기후 위기 대응을 위한 전국적인 소등 행사에 동참한다.
기후에너지환경부 주관으로 열리는 이번 행사는 에너지 소모가 많은 저녁 시간에 조명을 꺼 탄소 배출을 줄이고, 일상 속에서 실천 가능한 기후행동을 되새기자는 취지에서 마련됐다. 소등은 22일 저녁 8시부터 10분간 진행된다.
한화그룹은 을지로 한화빌딩(한화그룹 본사), 여의도 63빌딩(한화생명 본사)과 한화손보 사옥, 압구정 갤러리아백화점 명품관 등 서울 주요 사옥의 실내∙외 조명을 저녁 8시에 맞춰 일제 소등한다.
이번 소등 행사에는 전국의 한화생명, 한화손보 사옥과 갤러리아백화점 등도 동참해 에너지 절약과 환경 보호 실천에 나설 예정이다.
단, 안전 이슈나 고객 사용 등의 이유로 소등을 할 수 없는 사업장은 예외로 한다.
한화그룹 관계자는 “지구 환경을 돌아보고, 에너지 절약을 실천하는 차원에서 이번 소등 행사에 동참한다”며 “앞으로도 임직원 모두 함께 참여할 수 있는 다양한 기후행동을 모색하고 적극 실천하겠다”고 말했.
한편, 한화그룹은 중동전쟁에 따른 정부의 에너지 절감 정책에 동참하기 위해 4월초부터 임직원들을 대상으로 차량 5부제를 시행하고 있다. 또한, 사무실 및 사업장 전기 절감을 위해 점심시간 등 사무실을 비울 때는 사용하지 않는 사무기기 전원을 차단하고, 실내온도 기준을 강화했으며 개인 냉난방 기구 사용을 조절하는 등 에너지 절약에 힘쓰고 있다.
