브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 30일 국민의힘 새 원내대표에 4선의 김기현 의원(경남 울산 을)이 선출됐다.
국민의힘은 이날 오전 국회도서관에서 열린 원내대표 선출 의원총회에서 김기현 의원이 당선됐다고 밝혔다.
이날 의원총회에선 101명 의원 전체가 투표에 참여해 김태흠·유의동·김기현·권성동 후보에 대한 1차 투표를 진행한 결과, 김기현 후보 34표, 김태흠 후보 30표, 권성동 후보 20표, 유의동 후보 17표를 각각 획득했다.
하지만 과반수 이상의 표를 확보한 후보가 나오지 않아 득표순으로 김기현, 김태흠 후보가 결선투표를 다시 진행했다. 국민의힘 당헌·당규에 따르면 원내대표 1차 투표에서 재적의원의 과반수가 넘지 않으면 결선투표를 실시해야 한다.
이어진 결선투표에선 김기현 후보가 100표 중 66표를 얻어 새 원내대표로 선출됐다. 김태흠 후보는 결선투표에서 34표를 얻는데 그쳤다.
