브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 이준석 국민의힘 대표는 19일 범야권 대선후보와 관련 "당외 주자였던 최재형 전 감사원장까지 추가돼서 이미 비빔밥이 거의 다 완성됐다"고 밝혔다.
이준석 대표는 이날 YTN '뉴스Q'에 출연해 "지금은 당근 정도만 빠진 상황"이라며 이같이 말했다.
그는 특히 윤석열 전 검찰총장 등 아직 입당하지 않은 범야권 후보를 비빔밥 속 '당근'으로 비유하며 "당근하고 시금치가 밖에 있다고 해서 그 재료들만으로 비빔밥이 되는 건 아니다. 소위 빅텐트 상황을 만드는 것이 제일 좋다"고 했다.
이 대표는 또한 앞서 윤석열 전 총장에 '비단주머니를 주겠다'고 언급한 데 대해선 "(동화 속에서) 비단주머니를 건네줄 때 뭐라고 말하냐면 '위험할 때 열어보라'라고 말한다"면서 현재 각종 의혹 제기를 받고 있는 윤 전 총장에게 당 차원의 도움을 줄 수 있음을 시사했다.
최재형 전 감사원장의 입당과 관련해선 "설마 입당까지 할까라고 생각했는데, 굉장히 전격적인 행보를 많이 보이신다는 생각이 들었다"면서 "지금까지 알고 있었던 이미지와는 다르게 굉장히 도전적이신 분이라는 생각을 했다"고 회상했다.
한편 전국민 재난지원금 지급과 관련해선 "소상공인 지원을 최대한 두텁게 하고 소비진작성 재난지원금은 줄인다는 게 당론"이라며 "4단계 방역이 한동안 지속될 것으로 예측하고 있다. 그렇다면 오히려 지금은 소상공인에 대한 지원을 최대한 늘리는 것이 답"이라고 부정적인 입장을 피력했다.
