경북교육청(교육감 임종식)이 메타버스를 활용한 SW-AI교육 캠프를 개최했다.
지난 13부터 15일까지 안동 풍천풍서초등학교에서 북부권 초등 5∼6학년 24명을 대상으로 진행된 이번 캠프는 코로나19로 사회적 거리 두기가 강화된 상황을 고려하여 최소한의 인원으로 방역수칙을 준수하며 진행되었다.

이번 캠프는 미래를 살아갈 학생들의 컴퓨팅 사고력과 디지털 리터러시를 길러주기 위해 마련되었으며 비대면 시대의 새로운 온라인 캠프의 장을 마련하게 될 것으로 기대된다.
캠프 1일차는 밀도 있는 운영을 위해 프로그램 안내 및 안전교육, 디지털 리터러시 교육, SW-AI 기초 이론 및 교구 사용법 등을 실시간 온라인 교육으로 운영하였으며 2~3일차 집합 캠프에서는 언플러그드 및 협업 활동, 미션 해결하기 등 실기·실습 활동을 하고, 결과물 전시 발표에 메타버스 플랫폼 체험이 이뤄졌다.
임종식 교육감은 “경북 도내 학교에서는 공동교육과정, 각종 시상식, 입시 설명회 등 비대면 교육활동이 다양하게 이뤄지고 있다”며“앞으로도 메타버스의 교육적 효과를 극대화할 수 있는 활용 방안을 모색해 확대해 나갈 계획이다”고 밝혔다.
