금오공대가 주관하는 구미 강소특구육성사업단(단장 권오형)이 우수 창업자 경진대회를 열어 적극적인 예비 창업자 지원에 나섰다고 밝혔다.
‘2021 강소특구 이노폴리스캠퍼스 사업’의 일환으로 열린 우수 창업자 경진대회는 기술창업과 지역경제 활성화를 위해 마련되었다.

12일 금오공대 공동실험실습관에서 진행된 이번 경진대회에는 총 24개 팀의 아이디어가 접수되었으며 △기술성 △실현가능성 △사업성 및 시장성 △수행역량 등으로, 평가를 거쳐 16개의 팀이 최종 선정되었다. 선발된 총 16개의 우수 창업팀들은 총 2억 5천만 원의 시제품 제작비를 지원받게 된다.
시제품 제작비 최대 금액 2,500만 원을 지원받는 허장욱 참가자는‘머신러닝 기법을 활용한 고장진단 및 예지 플랫폼’을 통해 우수 창업자로 선발되었다.
예비 창업자 허장욱 참가자는 “창업에 도전하는 창업자들에게 꼭 필요한 교육을 받을 수 있어서 좋았다”며, “지원받게 된 시제품 제작비는 시드머니로 활용하여 곧 시제품 개발에 착수하겠다”고 밝혔다.
또한, 초기 창업자 가운데 우수 창업자로 선발된 동방의 김민수 팀장은 “대회에 앞서 진행된 8주간의 이노폴리스캠퍼스 필수 프로그램을 통해 길러진 고객 중심적 사고를 통해 이번 대회를 잘 준비할 수 있었다”며, “앞으로도 다양한 창업지원 프로그램이 시행돼 보다 많은 예비 및 초기 창업자들에게 도움이 되길 바란다”고 말했다.
