대구시교육청(교육감 강은희)이 2021년도 제2회 추가경정 예산으로 3조 8,500억원을 편성해 20일 대구시의회에 제출한다고 밝혔다.
이는 기정예산보다 3,162억원(8.9%) 증가한 것으로 △정부 추경에 따른 지방교육재정교부금 2,996억원, △국고보조금 108억원, △지방자치단체 등 기타이전수입 21억원, △자체수입 37억원을 재원으로 하고 있다.

대구교육청은 추가경정예산안 편성 기본방향을 코로나19의 장기화에 따른 학생들의 학습, 심리.정서, 사회성 등 교육력 저하 조기 회복과 학교교육 정상화에 중점을 뒀다고 밝혔다.
특히 2학기 전면 등교에 따른 방역 강화와 과밀학급 해소와 결원 대체, 안전과 작업환경 개선, 저소득층 가정의 정보화기기와 방과후자유수강권 지원 확대 등을 추가경정에 반영했고 아울러 노후 학교건물에 대한 개축.리모델링 등 건강한 교육환경을 조성하기 위해 교육시설사업에 대한 투자 등에 대한 예산을 추가로 편성했다.
강은희 대구시교육감은 “이번 추경은 장기화되고 있는 코로나19로부터 우리 학생들의 일상이 신속하게 회복되도록 하고, 안전하고 건강한 교육환경을 조성하는 것에 중점을 두었다”며, “위드(With) 코로나 시대에 우리 아이들이 안전하고 즐거운 학교생활을 할 수 있도록 최선을 다 할 것”이라고 밝혔다.
