영진전문대학교(총장 최재영)가 반려인과 반려동물이 행복한 펫케어 문화 정착을 위해 온오프라인 무료 특강을 마련했다.
내년도에 50명 정원의‘펫케어과’ 신설을 앞둔 영진전문대는 반려견과 함께하는 올바른 생활 방식을 오프라인과 온라인으로 안내해, 반려동물은 물론 반려인도 함께 행복한 삶을 추구할 수 있는 가이드를 제시하는 무료 특강을 마련했다고 밝혔다.

이번 특강은‘우리집 반려동물과 행복하게 살기’로 참여 희망 일반인(학생 포함)을 접수받아, 대학 강의실에서 오는 12월까지 10회에 걸쳐 진행하고 이를 동영상으로 제작, 펫케어과 홈페이지를 통해 온라인으로도 서비스를 이어갈 예정이다.
지난 18일 열린 첫 특강은 ‘우리집 댕댕이 홈케어는 어떻게 하지?’주제로 일반인과 이 대학교 재학생 등 10여 명이 참석한 가운데 약 2시간 동안 진행됐다.
이민영 교수는 이날 특강에서 △우리집 댕댕이 모질(毛質) 바로 알기, △모질에 따른 빗 선택하기, △털의 특징에 따른 빗질 올바르게 하는 방법을 강의와 시연했고, 참석자들은 실습하는 시간도 가졌다.
이민영 교수(펫케어과)는 “반려동물 보호자가 동물을 사랑하는 마음은 크지만 잘못된 방법으로 그 사랑을 제대로 전달하지 못해 오히려 동물에게 안 좋은 영향을 줄 수 있다. 그로인해 반려동물뿐만 아니라 보호자도 힘든 상황이 많고, 사회적인 문제가 되는 것을 종종 볼 수 있다” 면서 “반려동물과 함께하는 올바른 생활을 제시해 행복한 반려동물 문화를 정착하고 싶다”고 말했다.
