브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 국민의힘 대선주자인 유승민 전 의원은 23일 "당 대표를 흔들고 경선위원장을 바꾸고 경선룰을 바꾸겠다는 게 윤석열식 공정과 상식인가"라며 윤석열 캠프가 당 내 갈등의 중심에 있다고 맹비판했다.
유승민 전 의원은 23일 국회 소통관에서 가진 기자회견에서 윤석열 캠프의 비대위 전환 검토, 이준석 탄핵 발언, 이준석 대표 사퇴후 유승민 캠프로 가라는 민영삼 전 특보의 발언 등을 문제 삼으며 "윤석열 캠프 인사들, 윤 후보와 가까운 인사들은 도대체 왜 이런 도발을 하는 건가. 무엇을 노리고 이러는 건가"라며 이같이 밝혔다.
유승민 전 의원이 '이준석-윤석열' 갈등에 대해 공식 비판한 건 이번이 처음으로, 그간 이준석 대표와 '특수관계'라는 세간의 시선 탓에 특별한 입장표명을 하지 않았다.
유 전 의원은 "이준석 대표와 가까웠다는 인연만으로 괜한 오해를 받기 싫어 그동안 온갖 중상모략도 참아왔지만 정권교체의 적신호가 켜지고 있는 지금 분명하게 해둬야 겠다"면서 "캠프 인사가 계속 당 대표를 흔드는데 후보의 승인 없이 가능한 일인가. 윤 캠프는 후보 따로 참모 따로인가. 본인의 캠프 하나도 제대로 이끌지 못하면서 어떻게 대한민국 대통령이 되려 하나"라고 따져 물었다.
유 전 의원은 "지금 지지도가 높으니 주변에 충성경쟁하는 불나방들이 모여들 거다. 그 사람들이 후보를 망치지 않도록 할 책임은 후보 자신에게 있다"며 "지도부가 무너지고 또 비대위가 들어서는 불행한 사태가 발생하면 정권교체는 불가능해진다"고 강조했다.
그는 아울러 윤 전 총장이 당 지도부 부재 중 기습 입당을 발표한데 대해서도 "당 대표, 원내대표가 없는 날 입당한 것부터가 당을 무시한 오만한 행동이었다. 입당후에는 비전과 정책 발표는 하나도 없고, 지지자들을 앞세워 당 접수를 시도하고 당 대표를 흔드는 일을 계속됐다"고 쏘아붙였다.
그러면서 "윤석열 후보는 정권교체를 하러 온건가 아니면 당권 교체를 하러 온건가. 힘으로 당을 접수해야 쉽게 최종후보가 된다 생각하신다면 그런 생각은 버리라"고 덧붙였다.
유 전 의원은 아울러 "2030세대의 지지를 받고 전당대회에서 치열한 경쟁을 거쳐 선출된 당 대표를 힘으로 흔들면서 2030세대의 지지를 바라나"라며 "말로만 '민지야 부탁해'를 외친다고 될 일인가. 속으로는 청년들을 무시하는 처사 아닌가"라고 지적했다.
그는 "20대, 30대, 40대에서 우리 당이 서울시장 선거에서 이긴 것은 보수당 역사상 처음 있는 일"이라며 "어렵게 마음을 열어준 청년층, 중도층이 실망하시진 않았을까 걱정된다"고 우려를 표했다.
