대구대학교(총장 김상호) 사회적경제지원단이 경상북도 사회적경제지원센터에서 주관하는 대학별 사회적경제 교과목 운영 지원사업에 선정되어 사업을 수행한다.
사회적경제 교과목 지원사업은 사회적경제의 지속성장 기반을 마련하고 관련 인재 양성 및 취·창업 확산을 위해 마련되었다.

사업에 선정된 학교는 전문가 초청 특강 등 학기별 약 120만원의 교육비를 지원받게 된다.
2019년 시작된 사업은 올해까지 총 6개의 대학을 지원했으며, 대구대는 오는 2학기 신규로 안동대 및 경일대와 함께 사회적경제 교과목 지원사업을 운영해나갈 예정이다.
장중혁 대구대 사회적경제지원단장은 “지역 내 대학생들을 위한 사회적경제 교과목 지원사업을 통해 지역의 사회적경제와 사회 발전에 큰 원동력이 되길 바란다”며 “젊은 인재들의 사회적경제에 대한 관심이 실제 취업으로 이어지고, 지역경제도 더욱 활성화될 수 있도록 아낌없는 지원을 펼치겠다”고 말했다.
