경일대학교(총장 정현태)는 경상북도 사회적경제지원센터에서 주관하는 대학별 사회적경제 교과목 운영 지원사업에 2년 연속 선정됐다.
해당 사업은 사회적경제 인재양성 사업의 일환으로 사회적경제 인식을 확대하고 관련 인재 양성 및 취·창업 확산을 목적으로 한다.

사업에 선정된 학교는 전문가 초청 특강 등의 지원받을 수 있으며 경일대는 ‘사회문제를 해결하는 소셜벤처’ 과목으로 2년 연속 사업에 선정되었다.
‘사회문제를 해결하는 소셜벤처’ 과목은 사회문제 해결을 위한 기업이 증가함에 따라 관련 기업을 미리 경험하고 적성 및 전공을 반영하여 모의 소셜벤처 기업을 창업해 보는 수업으로 추후 관련 분야 취·창업까지 지원을 이어간다.
이 과목을 담당하고 있는 엄태영 교수(경일대 사회복지학과)는 “대학생들의 사회적경제 기업과 소셜벤처에 대한 관심이 증가하고 있다.”며 “다양한 대구·경북지역 현장과 함께 지역문제 해결을 위해 노력하는 미래인력 양성에 힘쓰겠다.”고 선정 소감을 밝혔다.
