김천대학교(총장 윤옥현)가 오는 2022학년도 학사구조 개편으로 환골탈태에 나선다.
김천대학교는 신입생 모집 정원을 종전 691명에서 665명으로 줄이고 14개학과를 3개 단과대학 체제로 전환하는 대대적인 학사구조 개편으로 코로나-19 및 학령인구 감소에 대응하고 전문화된 인재육성 교육에 나선다고 27일 밝혔다.

대학은 “중장기 발전계획인 JUMP 2023을 토대로 새로운 3대 단과대학 체제를 구축하여 대학의 3대 특성화 분야에 중점을 두어 학사구조를 개편했다”면서 “특히, 생활체육학과와 스마트모빌리티학과를 신설하여 2021년 9월부터 수시모집을 한다.”고 전했다.
이어 “43년의 전통과 역량을 바탕으로 지역사회를 선도하는 인재를 양성하고 있다”면서 특성화된 간호·보건의료 분야는 물론 영어 통·번역, 영어프리젠테이션, 중국어 등 외국인과의 협상능력을 갖출 수 있도록 특색 있는 교과목을 개설하여 교육의 질을 높이고 있다”고 설명했다.
특히 김천대는 전국 간호·보건계열 최다 보유 4년제 대학으로써 “간호인증대학, 방사선 전국 최초 인증대학, 물리치료 인증대학 등 재학생의 취업을 위해 졸업예정자를 대상으로 전공과 학과별로 세분화된 ‘취업 전담 교수제’를 도입하여 취업률 향상에 최선을 다하고 있다.”고 강조했다.
