브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 더불어민주당이 그간 강행 처리 입장을 밝혀온 언론중재법(언론중재 및 피해구제 등에 관한 법률) 개정안과 관련, 여야 협의를 통해 처리하기로 잠정합의했다.
윤호중 민주당 원내대표와 김기현 국민의힘 원내대표는 이날 오전 국회에서 회동을 갖고, 언론중재법 협의체를 구성해 9월 26일까지 개정안을 논의한 뒤 27일 본회의에 상정하기로 잠정합의했다.
협의체는 총 8인으로 구성되며 양당에서 각각 국회의원 2명과 언론계 전문가 2명을 추천한다. 이에 따라 협의체가 구성되고 본격적인 논의가 시작되면 언론중재법 개정안의 내용이 일부 바뀔 가능성이 높아지고 있다.
민주당은 언론중재법 잠정 합의안을 이날 오전 의원총회에서 만장일치로 추인했다. 송영길 민주당 대표는 의총 직후 "여야 합의안을 만장일치로 추인했다"며 "(개정안 내용은)여야 협의체에서 충분히 논의하게 될 것"이라고 밝혔다.
