게임소프트웨어 개발 및 서비스 회사인 크래프톤(대표 김창한)이 계명대(총장 신일희) 디지펜게임공학전공을 위해 발전기금 2,900만원을 약정했다고 계명대가 1일 밝혔다.
이번 크래프톤의 계명대 발전기금 약정은 게임산업분야의 발전을 위한 인재양성을 위해 마련되었다.

현재 크래프톤에 재직 중인 계명대 디지펜게임공학전공 출신의 동문들이 모교에 기부를 하고 싶다는 뜻을 모았으며 이와 함께 크래프톤에서 매칭자금을 더해 계명대 디지펜게임공학전공 재학생들에게 장학금 지급을 약정했다.
이에 따라 1일 오전 10시 30분, 계명대와 크래프톤 동문 등 관계자들이 참석한 가운데 실시간 온라인으로 발전기금 약정식이 진행되었다.
크래프톤의 임기경 프로그래머는 발전 기금 조성에 참여한 구성원을 대표해 “대학 재학 당시 어려운 시기에 도움을 받아 공부를 계속할 수 있었다. 이런 소중한 경험을 바탕으로 후배들 역시 공부에 집중하고 훌륭한 개발자로 성장할 수 있도록 기부에 참여했다.”며, "좋은 뜻을 함께 해준 동문들께 진심으로 감사의 말씀을 전한다."고 기부 의사를 전했다.
김원진 계명대 공과대학장은 “동문들이 힘을 모아 후배들을 위한 장학금을 마련해 준 것에 대해 감사의 말을 전한다.”며, “선배들이 졸업 후 관련 분야에서 활발히 활동하고 있는 모습에 후배들은 더욱 힘을 내고 큰 꿈을 키워나갈 것이다.”고 감사의 뜻을 전했다.
