내년 3월 열리는 대통령 선거를 앞두고 후보 간 경쟁이 치열한 가운데 더불어민주당 대선주자들을 지원하기 위해 배우자들이 대구·경북 방문에 나섰다.

이날 김숙희씨는 달성군 유가읍 테크노폴리스에서 열린 의료와 환경 관련 간담회를 통해 달성군 산업폐기물 소각업체 관련 오염물질 등의 피해상황에 대해 의견들을 듣고, 문재인정부의 기후위기대응정책을 비롯하여 이낙연 후보의 ESG실천행동 정책 등 환경 우선 정책들을 참석 주민, 구의원들과 함께 얘기하는 시간을 가졌다.
또한 이낙연 후보의 지지모임 플랫폼 더불어숲 사무실에서 ‘대구경북을 사랑하는 모임’과 간담회를 가지고 잇따라 국채보상기념관을 방문, 국채보상기념사업회 인사들과도 만남을 이어간 것으로 전해진다.
같은 날 이재명 후보의 배우자인 김혜경씨도 대구를 찾았다. 이 날 김 씨는 전태일 열사의 모친 이소선 여사 10주기 추모식에 참석 한 것으로 알려진다.
김혜경씨의 방문은 이재명 지사의 소년 노동자에서 인권변호사로 다시 행정가에서 정치가로 거듭나는 과정을 강조함과 동시에 대구의 민심을 얻으려는 노력으로 보인다.

한편, 더불어민주당은 오는 4일 대전을 시작으로 순회경선이 시작되며 대구·경북 순회일정은 9월 11일 토요일로 예정되어 있다.
