대구한의대학교(총장 변창훈)는 대구·경북 최초 메타버스를 활용한 입시 설명회를 개최했다.
지난 2일 저녁 8시에 열린 이번 입시 설명회는 코로나 19로 인하여 각종 행사를 대면으로 진행하기 어려운 상황에서 3차원 가상세계 기술인 '메타버스'를 활용했다.

대구한의대는 수험생 및 학부모들의 편의를 고려해 모집 단위의 특성에 맞는 맞춤형 입시 정보를 제공하기 위해 저녁 8시부터 1시간 30분 동안 31개 모집단위에서 각각 랜드(방)를 개설했다.
이를 통해 설명회에는 총 1500여명의 아바타가 참여하였으며 가상 공간에서 입시에 대한 소통의 열기가 느껴졌다.
설명회는 학과 전담교수들이 입시전형 소개, 홍보 동영상, 수업내용, 진로와 취업 등 여러 가지 사항에 대하여 실시간으로 소개하고 질문에 답하는 방식으로 진행되었다.
임상병리학과 학과장은 “이번 설명회에서 원거리에 있는 학생과 학부모가 함께 참여하여 가상공간에서 전형 유형과 전형별 합격등급 등의 입시 상담을 하는 색다른 경험을 하게 되었으며, 앞으로도 원거리에 있는 학생들의 입시 상담에 많이 활용하면 좋을 것 같다”는 소감을 전했다.
하정원 학술정보원장은 “이번 메타버스 입시 설명회는 교내 각 학과 교수님들의 적극적인 참여와 협조로 성공적으로 개최될 수 있었으며, with 코로나 시기에 다양한 플랫폼에 대한 이해는 입시 홍보뿐만 아니라 수업, 비교과, 진로 지도, 학생 상담 등 학생들과의 새로운 소통의 도구로 여러 방면에서 활용 될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.” 고 설명했다.
