대구대학교(총장 김상호) 컴퓨터정보공학부 김창훈 교수 연합연구팀이 2021년 사이버보안 컨퍼런스에서 우수 논문상을 수상했다.
지난 2일 부산시 벡스코에서 개최된 2021년 사이버보안 컨퍼런스는 지역 정보보안 산업 활성화를 위해 마련되었다.

이번 컨퍼런스에서 우수논문상을 수상한 연합연구팀은 차세대 네트워크 보안 인프라를 연구 중인 김 교수를 비롯해 공공기관인 한국부동산원 및 정보보안기업 (주)포위즈시스템 연구원으로 구성되어 대학과 공공기관 및 기업이 연합해 정보보안 문제를 공유하고 해결 방안을 제시했다는 점에서 더욱 의미를 더했다.
연합연구팀은 우리나라 대부분 공공기관이 네트워크망을 업무망과 인터넷망으로 분리하고 있는데 코로나 시대 재택근무자가 원격으로 내부 PC 업무망에 접속하는 환경은 최근 사이버 보안상 큰 문제점임에 주목했다.
이들은 약 7개월간의 연구 및 실험을 통해 원격 근무에 따른 다양한 취약점을 발견하고 이를 해결할 수 있는 대안을 이번 학회에서 제시했고 그 결과, 공공기관이 현재 겪고 있는 시급한 사이버보안 문제를 대학과 기업이 함께 해결한 공공·산학 협력연구면서 동시에 바로 현장에도 적용 가능한 실용적인 연구결과라는 평가를 받았다.
김창훈 교수는 “사이버보안 역량 강화를 위해서는 지역의 정보보호 전문기업이 절실히 필요하고 기업을 통해 인력 수요를 이끌어야 선순환 구조로 갈 수 있다”며 “지역 공공기관이 요구하는 사이버보안 수요도 미리 파악하고 이를 해결한 제품의 공급을 통해 경쟁력을 키워야 한다”고 말했다.

The joint research team of Professor Chang-Hoon Kim of the Department of Computer and Information Engineering at Daegu University (President Sang-Ho Kim) won the Best Paper Award at the 2021 Cyber Security Conference.
The 2021 Cybersecurity Conference, held at BEXCO, Busan, on the 2nd, was prepared to revitalize the local information security industry.
The joint research team, which won the Best Paper Award at this conference, is composed of Professor Kim, who is researching next-generation network security infrastructure, as well as researchers from the Korea Real Estate Agency, a public institution, and Forwiz System, an information security company. It was even more meaningful in that it shared security problems and suggested solutions.
The joint research team noted that most public institutions in Korea divide their networks into business networks and internet networks, but the environment in which telecommuters remotely access internal PC business networks in the era of Corona is a major cybersecurity problem in recent years.
Through about 7 months of research and experimentation, they discovered various vulnerabilities caused by remote work and presented alternative solutions at this conference. It was evaluated as a practical research result that can be applied directly to the field as well as a public-industrial collaboration research.
Professor Chang-Hoon Kim said, “In order to strengthen cybersecurity capabilities, a local information protection company is desperately needed, and a virtuous cycle can be achieved only by leading the demand for manpower through the company. We need to increase our competitiveness through the supply of solved products,” he said.
