브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 이재명 더불어민주당 대선 후보는 10일 경기도 성남시 대장동 개발 특혜 의혹과 관련, 유한기 전 성남도시개발공사 개발사업본부장이 극단적 선택을 한데 대해 "비통한 심정"이라고 입장을 밝혔다.
이재명 후보는 이날 오전 출입 기자단에 문자메시지로 보낸 입장문에서 "유한기 전 본부장의 명복을 빈다"며 이같이 밝혔다.
이 후보는 그러면서 "실체적 진실을 밝히기 위해서라도 조속히 특검을 추진해야 할 것"이라고 덧붙였다.
이 후보는 이날 오전 여의도 민주당 당사에서 기자들과 만난 자리에서 유한기 전 본부장 사망과 관련한 입장을 묻는 기자들의 질문에 답을 하지 않은 채 자리를 떠난 바 있다. 당시 이소영 선대위 대변인은 "입장 정리가 안됐다기 보다는 우리도 속보를 보고 알아서 경위나 사실을 잘 모른다"면서 "오늘 경주에서 첫 일정이 끝나고 질의응답시간이 있으니 그때 브리핑을 할 예정"고 전했다.
한편, 이날 경찰 등에 따르면 새벽 4시경 유 전 본부장이 극단적 선택을 암시하는 유서만 남긴 채 사라졌다는 가족들의 신고 전화를 받고 수색에 나섰다. 첫 신고 이후 4시간여 흐른 뒤 그는 고양시의 한 아파트 단지에서 숨진 채 발견됐다.
앞서 검찰은 유한기 전 본부장을 대장동 개발 사업 관련 뒷돈 수수 혐의로 구속영장을 청구했고 오는 14일 법원에서 영장실질심사를 앞두고 있었다.
