브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 국민의힘 윤석열 대선후보의 아내 김건희씨가 본인의 일부 허위 경력 논란에 대해 "돋보이려한 욕심이었다. 그것도 죄라면 죄"라고 밝혔다.
YTN은 14일 김건희 씨와의 인터뷰에서 자신의 가짜 수상경력과 관련해 이같이 밝혔고, 부풀리기 의혹이 있는 수상경력에 대해선 "회사 직원들과 같이 작업했기 때문에 넣은 것"이라고 주장했다.
김건희씨는 또 2007년 수원여자대학교에 제출한 교수 초빙 지원서 경력 사항이 부풀려졌다는 보도에 대해선 "믿거나 말거나 기억이 나지 않는다. 정확한 경위를 확인하고 있다"고 했다. 김씨가 당시 3년짜리 게임산업협회 재직증명서를 제출했는데 협회가 설립되기 전 기간이 포함돼 있었던 것에 대해선 "근무 기간을 잘못 기재하는 착오가 있을 순 있지만, 재직 증명서를 위조한 건 아니다"라고 답했다.
김씨는 특히 이러한 의혹제기에 대해 불쾌한 심기도 내비쳤다. 그는 "수상 경력을 학교 진학을 위해 쓴 것도 아닌데 무슨 문제냐"면서 "당시엔 공무원, 공인도 아니고 윤석열 후보와 결혼한 상태도 아닌데 이렇게까지 검증을 받아야 하느냐"고 말한 것으로 전해졌다.
국민의힘측에서도 일부 의혹이 "사실과 다르다"고 해명하며 김건희씨를 지원사격했다.
최지현 국민의힘 선대위 수석부대변인은 "김씨는 한국게임산업협회는 사단법인으로 결성 초기에 보수 없이 ‘기획이사’ 직함으로 ‘비상근 자문 활동’을 했고, 이후 협회 사무국으로부터 그 사실을 확인 받아 ‘재직증명서’를 정상적으로 발급 받은 것"이라며 "따로 보수를 받거나 상근한 것이 아니고 몇 년이 지나 이력을 기재하다보니 ‘재직 기간’은 착오한 것으로 보인다"고 했다.
최지현 수석부대변인은 수상경력 의혹에 대해서도 "당시 김씨는 회사 부사장으로서 출품 작품 제작에 깊이 관여하고, 상당한 기여를 했다"면서 "회사 경력을 주로 고려하는 ‘겸임교수 직’이었고 한정된 기간에 강의하는 것이기 때문에 ‘개인 수상’과 ‘회사에서의 주도적 역할로서의 수상’을 명확히 구분하지 않고 기재한 것"이라고 그를 옹호했다.
이준석 대표도 이날 MBC라디오와의 인터뷰에서 "대부분의 의혹은 윤 후보와 결혼하기 한참 전에 있었던 일이기에 이를 감안해서 보면 될 것이다. 하지만 결혼 전 일을 갖고 윤 후보에게 책임을 묻는 것은 과하다고 생각한다"면서 "이재명 후보는 본인 과오로 전과가 4개 정도 있다. 그렇다고 저희가 그 부분에 대해 매일 사과하라고 종용하지 않지 않나"라고 강조했다.
이준석 대표는 그러면서 "모든 것은 상대 평가다. 지난 1년 가까이 윤석열 후보 배우자에 대해 여권과 주변에서 많은 공격이 있었지만 김건희씨를 실제 만난 결과 대중에게 노출돼도 지금 상황 속에서 만들어진 이미지보다는 좋은 모습일 것으로 판단한다"고 부연했다.
