브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 김종인 국민의힘 총괄선거대책위원장은 17일 윤석열 대선후보가 부인 김건희씨와 관련된 논란에 대해 빨리 사과할수록 좋다고 밝혔다.
김종인 위원장은 이날 오전 서울 여의도 당사 출근길에 기자들과 만나 '윤석열 후보가 사과 입장을 언제 내는 게 적절하냐'는 질문에 "빠르면 빠를수록 좋다"고 말했다.
그는 "후보께서 (의혹에 대한 사실관계를) 전반적으로 파악을 하시면 본인 스스로 곧 사과를 하실 것"이라고 전망했다.
다만 김 위원장은 선대위 차원에서 대응하는 것은 적절치 않다고 봤다. 그는 "선대위 차원에선 건의를 하는거지 후보 가정에 대한 문제에 직접 나서서 사과 할 수는 없지 않나"라고 일축했다.
그는 또한 이재명 더불어민주당 대선후보가 장남의 불법도박 논란에 즉각 사과한 것에 대해선 "그 문제는 별로 관심이 없다. 이재명 후보와 아들이 스스로 판단한 것"이라고 했다.
그는 아울러 '이재명 후보의 사과는 적절했다고 보느냐'는 질문에도 "그건 일반 국민들이 판단하는 것"이라며 "이재명 후보가 사과한 걸로 끝날지 말지는 국민들이 판단할 것"이라고 말했다.
