브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 지난 21일 이준석 국민의힘 대표가 선거대책위원회 내 모든 직책에서 사퇴한 가운데 선대위 갈등의 핵심은 '윤핵관(윤석열 핵심 관계자)'에 있다는 주장이 나왔다. 이준석 대표와 조수진 공보단장과의 충돌은 일부분일 뿐이라는 것이다.
김철근 당대표 정무실장은 22일 오전 MBC라디오 '김종배의 시선집중'와의 인터뷰에서 "(윤핵관 문제는) 조수진 최고위원의 항명으로 촉발이 됐죠. 사실은 그게 전부가 아니다"라고 밝혔다.
김 실장은 먼저 선대위 조직의 비효율성을 언급하며 "사람이 늘었으면 굉장히 많은 일을 해야 되는데 공약 하나 변변히 나오는 게 없었고 어떤 위기 상황이 왔을 때 이것에 대한 기민한 대처도 없었다"고 지적했다.
이어 김건희씨 허위경력 논란과 관련, 조수진 최고위원이 교수 출신 의원들을 모아 김씨를 두둔하는 성명을 발표한 데 대해 "더 진솔한 사과를 해야 하는 게 아니냐 이견이 있는 상황이었는데 (김씨를 옹호하는 발표를 했다)"며 "거기에 내용도 부적절할 뿐더러 그걸 전달한 사람도 부적절했다. (조수진) 공보단장이 할이 아니었다"고 꼬집었다.
윤석열 후보가 동아일보와의 인터뷰에서 이준석 대표의 사퇴를 놓고 '저게 사퇴할 정도의 일인가 싶다'고 언급한데 대해선 "정치를 많이 안 해보신 분이고, 보고한 사람의 편향된 주장이 많이 가미된 보고를 받고서 그런 발언을 한 것 같다"고 평가했다. 김 실장은 '보고자'는 이른바 윤핵관이었을 것이라고 봤다.
김 실장은 선대위에서 물러난 장제원 의원도 '윤핵관'이라고 추정했다. 그는 "이준석 대표는 옹졸한 자기 정치를 한다고 그러고 조수진 최고위원한테는 당장 사과할 일을 그런 일을 하냐 이렇게 양비론을 펼쳤던 (장제원 의원)분도 윤핵관 중에 한 명이라 생각한다"며 "정확히 알 수 없으나 그런 내용을 페이스북에 공개적으로 얘기할 정도면 '내가 상당한 실세다' 이런 걸 스스로 증명하는 것 아닌가"라고 주장했다.
선대위 내에서 '윤핵관'이 거듭 언급되고 있는 이유로는 윤석열 후보의 인사 스타일 때문이라고 했다. 김 실장은 "복잡다단한 선거 와중에 정치경험이 많지 않은 이런 상황에서 윤석열 후보를 보좌하고 있는 이른바 윤핵관의 문제가 핵심으로 떠오를 수밖에 없다"면서 "윤 후보는 사람을 한 번 쓰면 믿고 끝까지 쓴다. 이는 장점으로 작용할 수도 있는데 선거는 짧은 시간 내에 극도의 성과를 내야 하는 상황이기 때문에 거기에 맞춰서 또 다른 생각을 할 필요도 있다"고 했다.
