브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 윤석열 국민의힘 대선 후보와 김종인 총괄선거대책위원장이 22일 비공개 회동을 갖고 선거대책위원회 개편 방향을 잡았다.
윤 후보와 김 위원장은 이날 오전 서울 여의도 당사에서 비공개 회동을 가진 뒤 "선대위가 좀 더 효율적으로 운영될 수 있도록 김종인 위원장께서 총괄선대위원장으로서 좀 그립을 더 강하게 잡고 하시겠다고 하고, 저도 그렇게 좀 해달라고 말씀을 드렸다"고 밝혔다.
윤 후보는 "회의라기 보단 호남 방문 일정 이전에 차 한잔 했다"며 말을 아꼈지만, 당 관계자 등에 따르면 이준석 대표와 조수진 공보단장의 사퇴에 따른 수습 방안을 논의한 것으로 전해졌다.
이 자리에서 윤 후보는 "보다 효율적이고 유능한 선대위로 만들어 달라"고 주문했고, 김종인 위원장도 이에 공감한 것으로 알려졌다.
이양수 선대위 수석대변인은 "선대위 완전 개편까진 아니고 현재 있는 선대위를 보다 효율적이고 유능하게 만들어달라는 주문이 있었다"고 전하며 "김종인 위원장이 하기 나름이지만, 제 느낌으로도 무엇을 없애는 것 보다는 현재 있는 기구들을 좀 더 효율적이고 협의가 잘 되는 그런 식으로 만들지 않겠냐"고 추측했다.
이 대변인은 이어 본부장급 등의 일괄 사퇴 가능성을 묻는 질문에도 "전혀 없다"며 "효율적으로 되려면 슬림화 얘기를 많이 하시는데 (오늘 비공개 회동에서) 슬림화나 조직 일부를 잘라내거나 하는 이야기는 전혀 없었다"고 설명했다.
아울러 "이준석 대표와 관련한 일은 여러분들이 많이 걱정한다고 윤 후보가 말씀했고, 위원장님도 잘 해결될 수 있도록 노력하겠다고 말씀하셨다"고 전했다.
이준석 대표측에서 문제로 지적하고 있는 '윤핵관(윤석열 핵심 관계자)'에 대해선 "특정 언론에서 언급하는 윤핵관은 실제 윤핵관은 아닌 거 같다"며 "잘못된 정보를 언론에 제공하고 그 언론에서 확인 없이 기사를 쓰면서 실제와 다른 이야기들이 기사로 전해지고 있는 거 같다"고 해명했다.
그는 "어느 캠프의 핵심관계자가 후보와 당대표 간 사이가 나빠지도록 기자에게 정보를 제공하겠느냐"며 "제가 보기에는 캠프에 도움 안 되는 분들이 개인적인 이야기들을 언론에 흘림으로써 잘못된 정보를 준 걸로 보인다. 이 대표도 실제로 사실 관계 확인을 통해서 기사로 나온 이야기들이 잘못됐다는 것을 확인한다면 오해는 쉽게 풀릴 것"이라고 내다봤다.
