브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 신지예 국민의힘 새시대준비위원회 수석부위원장이 3일 자리에서 물러났다. 이는 선대위 합류 2주만에 사퇴한 것으로, 윤석열 후보는 "논란을 만든 제 잘못"이라고 사과했다.
신지예 부위원장은 이날 자신의 페이스북을 통해 "윤석열 후보를 지지하겠다고 온 저에게 더 강한 저항은 국민의힘 내부에 있었다"며 "후보와 공식적인 환영식을 하고 캠프의 공식적인 직함을 받아 활동하는 저에게조차 사퇴하라는 종용은 이어졌다. '쓸데없는 짓 하지 말고, 가만히 있으라'는 이준석 대표의 조롱도 계속됐다"고 주장했다.
이어 "윤 후보의 지지도 하락이 모두 저 때문이라고 한다"면서 "신지예 한 사람이 들어와 윤석열 후보를 향한 2030의 지지가 폭락했다고 말한다. 정말 그렇느냐"고 반문했다.
그는 이준석 대표를 향해서도 "그동안 무엇을 하셨느냐"면서 "최고위원의 반발에 자리를 뛰쳐나가고. 성 상납 논란으로 연일 언론에 오르내리고 있지 않나"라고 비판했다.
신 부위원장은 이같은 사퇴 표명 직후 한겨레와의 인터뷰에선 "수석부위원장 자리를 내려놓지만, 새시대준비위에는 남는다"며 "외곽조직에 속한 멤버로 계속 정권교체를 위해 할 일을 할 생각"이라고 잔류하는 듯한 발언을 했다.
하지만 이양수 국민의힘 중앙선대위 수석대변인은 이날 기자단 공지를 통해 "신지예 부위원장은 수석부위원장직 사퇴는 물론, 더 이상 새시대준비위에서 활동하지 않는 것으로 결정됐음을 알려드린다"고 못박았다.
신 부위원장이 어떤 방식으로든 잔류 의사를 남겼음에도 사실상 당에서 '쫒아낸 게 아니냐'는 추측이 제기된다.
윤석열 후보도 심 부위원장 사퇴에 대한 입장을 표명했다. 윤 후보는 이날 오후 페이스북을 통해 "애초에 없어도 될 논란을 만든 제 잘못이다"라며 "특히 젠더 문제는 세대에 따라 시각이 완전히 다른 분야인데, 기성세대에 치우친 판단으로 청년세대에 큰 실망을 준 것을 자인한다"고 말했다.
이어 "출마선언을 하며 청년들에게 '공정한 세상을 만들겠다', '청년들의 목소리를 제대로 듣겠다'고 약속했다. 시간이 지난 지금 그 약속이 제대로 지켜졌는지 돌이켜본다. 솔직하게 인정한다. 제가 2030의 마음을 세심히 읽지 못했다"고 거듭 사과했다.
한편 이준석 대표는 신 부위원장 사퇴와 관련, 이날 기자들과 만나 "저는 어떤 경로로도 선대위 관계자나 실제 의사 결정권이 있는 관계자에게 의견을 안 냈다"며 "선대위 인적 쇄신에 있어 특정 인물을 언급한 바 없기 때문에, 오해 없길 바란다"고 선을 그었다.
