브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 조원진 우리공화당 대통령 후보는 10일 "2월 기준으로 우리공화당 당원은 45만명이 되어 국민의당과 정의당과의 당원 숫자는 더 크게 차이가 날 것으로 예상되는데 제3의 정당 대통령 후보를 여론조사에서 제외하고 TV토론에서 배제하는 것은 민주정치에 반하는 것”이라고 비판했다.
조 후보는 이날 보도자료를 통해 "중앙선관위의 2020년 정당활동 개황자료에 따르면, 우리공화당 당원이 안철수 후보가 있는 국민의당보다 무려 20배가 많고, 심상정 후보의 정의당보다 6배가 많은 326,658명으로, 현재 20대 대통령 선거 후보를 선출한 정당 중 3위에 해당한다"며 이같이 밝혔다.
조원진 후보는 "헌법 제1조 2항에 대한민국의 주권은 국민에게 있고, 모든 권력은 국민으로부터 나온다고 명시되어 있고, 헌법 8조에는 정당의 정치활동을 보장하고 보호하고 있으며, 정당법에는 정당이 민주정치의 건전한 발전에 기여한다고 명시하고 있다"면서 "지금의 여론조사 기관과 언론, 방송사가 대한민국의 풀뿌리 정당정치를 외면하고 인기영합주의식 선거를 조장하고 있다"고 지적했다.
이어 그는 "지금의 여론조사기관의 잘못된 행태로 인해 대한민국에서 정당정치가 자리매김하지 못하고 이합집산과 야합정치가 창궐하고 있다"라며 "제대로 된 정당을 키워서 책임있는 정치를 하는 것이 바람직한 미래의 책임정치임에도 불구하고 잘못된 여론조사기관의 한탕주의가 대한민국 미래정치에 먹칠을 하고 있다"고 강조했다.
그는 또 "그동안 정의당이나 국민의당 그리고 국가혁명당이 어떤 존재가치가 있었고 국민과 어떤 소통을 해왔는지 묻고 싶다"면서 "우리공화당은 지난 4년동안 거리의 아스팔트, 지하철역, 전통시장, 자영업자가 있는 곳에는 어디든 달려가서 함께 했다. 이러한 풀뿌리 정치를 외면하는 여론조사기관과 언론, 방송사는 정말 사라져야 한다"고 했다.
그러면서 "지금 유튜브에서 조원진, 심상정, 안철수, 허경영을 찾으면 조원진이 가장 많이 나온다. 전통시장 상인들과 허심탄회하게 소주 한잔 할 수 있는 정치인은 조원진이라고 한다. 국민의 진정한 여론과 민심을 외면하는 지금의 여론조사기관과 언론, 방송사는 역사에 민주정치의 적으로 평가 받을 것"이라고 덧붙였다.
