브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 안철수 국민의당 후보가 '대선 완주'에서 '단일화'로 입장을 선회하면서 야권단일화가 이번 대선 최대 변수로 떠올랐다.
그간 단일화에 대해 거부 입장을 밝히며 끝까지 완주하겠다던 안철수 후보는 전날 후보 등록을 마친 뒤 "제가 완주한다고 계속 이야기를 해도 단일화 꼬리만 붙이려고 했다"면서 "그렇다면 차라리 선제적으로 제안해서 국민들의 판단과 평가에 모든 것을 맡기고 제 길을 굳건히 가겠다"고 밝혔다.
이에 정치권에서는 야권단일화를 자신들에게 유리한 방향으로 끌고가기 위한 셈법 계산에 분주해졌다. 투표용지 인쇄일인 28일 이전이나 사전투표일인 3월 4~5일 이전, 본 투표일 3월 9일 직전 등 약 3번의 단일화 발표 적기가 있다고 보고 있다.
