브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 이재명 더불어민주당 대선후보의 중앙선대위 내 평화경제연대위원회(평경연)는 14일 이 후보를 평화경제 대통령으로 만들기 위한 토론회를 진행했다.
이날 서울 영등포구 여의도 이룸센터 이룸홀에서 열린 토론회에는 노웅래 평경연 상임위원장을 비롯해 정동영 상임고문, 강창범 개성공단 입주 기업주, 신성관 국방과학연구소 수석연구원 등이 참석한 가운데 진행됐다.
노웅래 위원장은 이 자리에서 "민주정부 4기 출범을 위해 평경연 15만 회원들이 한마음 한뜻으로 힘을 모아 이재명 후보의 당선을 위해 모두 함께 힘써 달라"면서 "개성공단의 재가동으로 남북간 긴장완화와 이로 인해 경제발전을 동시에 이뤘으면 좋겠다"고 말했다.
정동영 상임고문은 토론회 1부 '개성공단과 평화'를 주제로 한 토론에서 "개성공단 가동으로 북한군의 최정예 2개사단 방사포와 장사정포가 후방으로 이전 배치됐다"면서 "전쟁으로 인한 우려를 종식시킴으로서 긴장완화를 가져왔다"고 평가했다.
정 고문은 이어 "윤석열 대선후보는 선제타격을 주장하지만 이는 사태의 본질을 모르고 하는 이야기"라며 "북한은 ICBM(대륙간탄도미사일), IRBM(중거리탄도미사일)으로 미국을 위협하고 있는데, 미국으로부터 체재보장과 국제사회로부터 인정받는 것이 목표일 것"이라고 강조했다.
또한 "러시아의 우크라이나 전쟁위협에 대해서 나토의 동진을 막기 위한 의도와 미국과 대등한 슈퍼파워를 국제사회로부터 인정받고 싶은 게 러시아의 의도일 것"이라며 "북한이 한미군사훈련의 중단을 요구하고 있는 것도 생존을 위한 행동"이라고 설명했다.
정동영 고문은 북한과 '평화 협정'을 맺는 것이 중요하다고 언급하며 "만약 통일이 된 이후에도 미군이 한반도에 주둔하는 것은 평화안정을 위해 필요하다"고 주한미군의 역할론도 제시했다.
그는 아울러 "이재명 정부가 탄생한다면 현재 답보상태인 대북제재를 다시 논의하게 될 것"이라며 "한미간의 굳건한 동맹과 북미 대화를 통해 개성공단 재가동과 금강산관광을 재개하는데도 노력할 것이다. 따라서 이재명 후보가 반드시 당선돼야만 남북관계가 개선될 수 있다"고 말했다.
플라스틱완구 제조업을 하는 박남서 개성공단 입주기업 대표는 "개성공단의 설립 취지는 향후 북한의 경제특구를 만들기 위한 교두보가 아니였나 싶다"며 "유엔헌장의 실험무대가 개성공단이라고 본다. 그러나 아이러니하게 경제제재를 유엔이 취하고 있다"고 꼬집었다.
이어 그는 "북한은 근로자가 많을수록 자산이 높이 평가되고 인적자산이 곧 재산이 되는 나라"라며 "북한은 개성공단에 근로자 5만4천여명을 보내 새로운 일을 할 수 있었다. 남한은 일자리 18만개가 창출됐고 우리는 질 좋고 가격이 저렴한 공산품을 사용할 수 있었다"고 남북 모두에게 득이 됐다고 평가했다.
