[브레이크뉴스=이성용기자] 창원시는 마산해양신도시 건설사업을 잠정 보류한다고 15일 밝히고 이에 따른 입장을 추후 밝힐 예정이다.
그동안 정의당과 시민단체 등을 중심으로 허 시장 측근 개입의 금품수수와 의혹 등이 끊임없이 재기 되었고 우선협상대상자로 선정된 현대산업개발 마저도 지난해 6월 광주 철거건물 붕괴사고와 올해 1월 아파트 붕괴사고 등의 안전사고를 일으키면서 현대산업개발에 대한 불신이 쌓이면서 이대로는 안된다는 여론이 확산된 것이 작용한 것으로 보인다.
또한 현대산업개발은 정부로부터 행정처분을 앞두고 있는데 결과에 따라 최장 1년 8개월의 영업정지 또는 등록말소 처분까지도 예상된다는 것이 전문가들의 의견이다.
