브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 조원진 우리공화당 대선후보의 아내 성희숙씨가 유세 현장과 태극기집회를 줄곧 함께하는 등 '내조 끝판왕' 다운 면모를 보여주고 있다.
성희숙씨는 지난 15일 서울시청 광장에서 열린 조 후보의 대선 출정식 참석을 시작으로 대구 유세일정도 함께 하며 조 후보를 적극 지원하고 있다.
성씨는 대선 이전에도 박근혜 대통령의 탄핵이 부당하다면서 태극기 집회를 주최하는 조원진 후보의 든든한 버팀목 역할을 해왔다.
성희숙씨는 서울의 구청 공무원으로 일하다가 조원진 후보를 만나 결혼했다고 한다. 정치를 하겠다는 조원진 후보를 내조하기 위해 공무원 생활도 그만두고, 조용히 지역사회에서 봉사활동을 해왔다.
실제로 성희숙씨가 대구의 모병원에서 호스피스 봉사활동을 하는 것을 남편 조원진 후보를 비롯해 사무실 직원 아무도 몰랐다고 한다. 독실한 기독교인으로 교회 권사이기도 한 성씨는 수년간 남몰래 호스피스 봉사활동을 해온 것이다.
또한 조 후보는 유세현장에서 자신이 '충정의 사위'라는 말을 줄곧 해왔는데, 실제로 성희숙씨는 충청도 출신으로 아버지는 충남 서천, 어머니는 충남 서산 출신이다.
성희숙씨는 "박근혜 대통령 탄핵 과정에서 너무나 많은 거짓말과 가짜뉴스를 보고 참으로 안타까웠고, 남편이 용기를 내며 끝까지 의리를 지키는 모습을 지지했다"면서 "진인사대천명이라고 진심을 다해 사람이 할 수 있는 일을 다 한 후 그 결과를 기다리는 마음이다. 최근 남편의 의리와 용기를 좋아해 주시고 지지해주시는 분들이 많아지는 것 같아서 참으로 다행이다"라고 말했다.
한편 조원진 후보는 23일 충남에서 충청권 표심 다지기 유세를 진행하고 있다. 21일 충북, 22일 대전과 세종에 이어 3일째 충청권 집중 유세 중이다. 이날 오전에는 장모님의 고향인 서산에서 아침 출근인사를 하며 지지를 호소했다.
조원진 후보는 “충청의 사위가 충청을 반드시 대한민국의 중심도시로 만들고 충청을 확실하게 발전시키겠다”고 말했다.

Meanwhile, candidate Cho Won-jin is on a campaign to strengthen votes in Chungcheongnam-do on the 23rd. In the morning that day, he greeted his mother-in-law's hometown of Seosan in the morning and appealed for support.
