브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 여야 유력 대선후보들이 울진 산불 이재민 보호소를 찾아 주민들을 위로하며 전폭적인 지원을 약속했다.
이재명 더불어민주당 후보와 윤석열 국민의힘 후보는 경상북도 울진군 북면 두천리 야산에서 발생한 산불 이재민보호소를 잇따라 찾아 주민들을 위로했다.
먼저 윤석열 후보는 4일 밤 11시경 이재민보호소에 도착, 주민들과 이야기를 나눴다. 이날 윤 후보 방문에는 이철우 경북지사와 전찰건 울진군수, 박형수, 이만희, 김정재, 전주혜, 이용 의원 등이 함께했다.
윤 후보는 대피한 주민들에게 "힘들어서 어떡하나", "식사는 했나", "씻기는 할 수 있나", "춥지 않나. 난방은 잘 되나" 등 위로의 말을 건넸다.
한 주민이 "집이 다 타서 없어졌다. 숟가락 하나 꺼내오지 못했다"고 걱정하자, 윤 후보는 "산불 끝나면 집 다 지어드리겠다. 걱정마시라"며 "나라에서 다 지어줄 것이다"고 약속했다.
윤 후보는 또 "선거 끝나고 지금 정부하고 빨리 협의해서 보상도 해드리고 집도 지어 드리겠다"면서 "산불이란 게 꺼졌다고 해도 눈에 안 보이는 불씨 하나가 바람이 불면 또 커지니까 여기에 좀 더 계셔달라"고 당부하기도 했다.
그는 이재민보호소 방문 배경을 묻는 기자들의 질문에는 "제가 여기와서 얼마나 큰 힘이 되겠느냐만 그냥 손 잡아드리고 국가에서 법에 따라 신속하게 화재가 진압되면 이분들의 주거를 다시 지어드리고 이렇게 절차가 빨리 진행되도록 촉구하겠다"고 말했다.

이재명 후보는 5일 새벽 비공개로 방문해 화재 상황을 점검하고 이재민을 위로한 것으로 전해졌다.
이날 민주당에 따르면 이 후보는 이날 오전 4시20분경 울진 국민체육센터 1대피소를 찾아 이재민을 위로했고, 4시 34분에는 울진 연호문화센터 제2 대피소로 이동해 준비 상황 등을 점검했다.
이후 산림청·경상북도·소방청 합동상황실을 방문해 관계자를 격려하는 한편, 산불 진화와 이재민 보호에 대한 진행 상황을 들었고, 5시20분경에는 직접 차량을 타고 화재 현장을 둘러보기도 했다.
이 후보는 이후 강원도 삼척 원덕복지회관 제1 대피소를 방문, 화재 피해를 입은 이재민들을 만나 전폭적인 지원을 약속했다.
선대위 관계자는 "이재명 후보는 현장 방문을 마친 후 국회 행정안전위원장인 서영교 선대위 상황실장에게 울진과 삼척에서 건의 받은 의견을 소상히 전달하고 화재 진화에 대한 지원과 이재민 보호 및 지원에 만전을 기해달라고 당부했다"고 전했다.

Democratic candidate Lee Jae-myung and candidate Yoon Seok-yeol of the People's Power visited a series of forest fire victims shelters in Ducheon-ri, Buk-myeon, Uljin-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do.
First, candidate Yoon Seok-yeol arrived at the victims' shelter around 11 p.m. on the 4th and talked to the residents. Gyeongsangbuk-do Governor Lee Cheol-woo, Uljin-gun Governor Jeon Chal-gun, Park Hyung-soo, Lee Man-hee, Kim Jung-jae, Jeon Ju-hye, and Lee Yong-won attended the visit.
Candidate Yoon said to the evacuated residents, "What should I do?" "Did you eat?" "Can you wash up?" "Isn't it cold?" "Does the heating work well?" he said comforting words.
A resident said, "The house was burnt out and disappeared. When he was worried that he couldn't bring out a spoon, candidate Yoon said, "I'll build you a house after the forest fire is over. Don't worry, he promised, "The country will build everything for you."
Candidate Yoon also said, "After the election, I will quickly consult with the government to compensate and build a house," and added, "Even if the forest fire is extinguished, one invisible flame will grow again when the wind blows, so please stay here a little longer."
Asked by reporters about the background of his visit to the victims' shelter, he said, "I will just hold hands on how much strength I will be here, and if the fire is quickly extinguished according to the law, I will rebuild their homes and urge them to proceed so quickly."
Candidate Lee Jae-myung reportedly visited privately in the early morning of the 5th to check the fire situation and console the victims.
According to the Democratic Party of Korea, candidate Lee visited the first shelter at the Uljin National Sports Center at around 4:20 a.m. to console the victims, and at 4:34, he moved to the second shelter of the Uljin Yeonho Cultural Center to check his preparations.
Afterwards, he visited the joint situation room of the Korea Forest Service, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and Fire Agency to encourage officials, and heard the progress of forest fire extinguishing and protecting victims, and at around 5:20, he took a car to tour the fire site.
Candidate Lee later visited the first shelter of the Wondeok Welfare Center in Samcheok, Gangwon-do, met with victims of the fire and promised full support.
After the on-site visit, candidate Lee Jae-myung asked Seo Young-kyo, chairman of the National Assembly's Public Administration and Security Committee, to convey the opinions he received from Uljin and Samcheok and make every effort to support the fire extinguishing, victims, said a senior committee official.
