브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 윤석열 국민의힘 대통령후보는 7일 송영길 더불어민주당 대표가 둔기로 피습당한 사건이 발생한데 대해 "부상이 크지 않기를 바란다"며 "송 대표의 쾌유를 빈다"고 말했다.
윤석열 후보는 이날 자신의 페이스북을 통해 "선거는 국민 앞에 비전과 정책, 능력 등을 평가받는 시험대이자 민주주의의 축제다. 선거는 방해하는 그 어떤 폭력도 정당화될 수 없다"며 이같이 밝혔다.
윤 후보는 이어 "정부 당국에 강력히 부탁드린다"며 "남은 선거 기간 더 이상 불미스러운 일이 없도록 안전에 만전을 기해주시길 부탁드린다"고 했다.
한편, 송영길 대표는 이날 서울 서대문구 신촌 유플렉스 앞 광장에서 유세 전 시민들과 인사를 나누던 도중 정체불명의 남성이 휘두른 둔기에 머리를 가격당했다.
이 남성은 '종전통일 부강국 표삿갓'이라고 적힌 피켓을 몸에 걸고 있었다. 경찰은 이 남성이 유튜브 '표삿갓TV' 채널을 운영하는 남성으로 추정하고 있으며 그를 현행범으로 체포했다.
송 대표는 즉시 신촌세브란스 병원으로 이송돼 치료를 받았으며 다행히 생명에는 지장이 없는 것으로 전해졌다. 송 대표는 아울러 이날 오후 예정된 일정을 모두 취소했다.

Candidate Yoon Seok-yeol said on his Facebook page, "Elections are a testbed and a festival of democracy that is evaluated in front of the people for vision, policies, and abilities. "No violence that interferes with the election can be justified," he said.
Candidate Yoon went on to say, "I strongly ask the government authorities to make every effort to ensure that there is no more unsavory events during the rest of the election period."
Meanwhile, CEO Song Young-gil was hit on the head by a blunt weapon wielded by an unidentified man while greeting all citizens in front of Uplex in Sinchon, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul.
The man was hanging a picket on his body that read "Pyosatgat, a traditional wealthy country." The police suspect that the man is a man who runs the YouTube "Pyosatgat TV" channel and arrested him as a current offender.
CEO Song was immediately transferred to Sinchon Severance Hospital for treatment, and fortunately, it is reported that there is no life threatening. CEO Song also canceled all schedules scheduled for the afternoon that day.
