[브레이크뉴스=이성용기자] 창원시 진해구에서 (구)자동차 학원으로 쓰던 땅 인접 야산에 산업폐기물이 야적되어 있어 환경 공해로 인한 피해가 지적되고 있다.
창원시 진해구 남의로에 위치한 중고매매상사 부지는 원래 자동차학원 부지로 사용하였으나 현재는 K트럭, B상사, M산업 등이 임대해 사용 중이다.

이에 지난 5일 공동취재단은 현장을 방문해 앞서 임대한 업체가 버린 것으로 추정되는 철물, 타이어, 비닐 등 산업폐기물을 확인하였으며 대략 25톤 트럭으로 10대 이상의 분량은 될 것으로 확인됐다.
이곳은 주 간선도로와 떨어진 상층부에 위치해 육안으로 쉽게 보이지 않지만 그 주변 요양병원 또는 어린이집과 맞닿아 있어 비산먼지 등 환경공해 피해가 우려된다.
K상사 관계자는 “작년 8월경 임대 계약해 입주해 중고매매업을 하고 있다”며 “앞서 임대한 업자가 산업폐기물을 버린 것을 토지소유주가 일부 처분했으나 트럭 한 차에 약 400만원이 소요돼 나머지는 방치돼 있다”고 말했다.
창원시 진해구 관련담당자는 “이전 임대업자가 임대 기간 중에 폐기물을 버린 것으로 확인되었고 법원의 판결문도 확인했다. 현재는 전 임대업자가 연락이 되지않아 지주가 이를 해결할 수 밖에 없는 사항이다. 토지주도 이달까지 말끔히 치우겠다고 약속한 만큼 지켜볼 계획이라"고 말했다.
