브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 윤석열 대통령 당선인이 10일 오전 조 바이든 미국 대통령과 첫 통화를 가졌다. 이날 국회에서 당선 수락 인사를 한지 약 5시간만에 바이든 대통령으로부터 당선 축하 인사를 받은 것이다.
국민의힘에 따르면 윤석열 당선인은 이날 오전 9시40분경 서울 서초동 자택에서 바이든 대통령과 전화통화를 했다.
이날 통화는 미국측에서 먼저 요청해 이뤄진 것으로 알려졌는데, 윤 당선인은 당초 이날 오전 10시 서울 동작구 현충원을 참배할 예정이었으나 바이든 대통령과의 전화통화가 길어지며 일정이 지체됐다.
윤 당선인은 바이든 대통령과 한미동맹 강화 의지를 재확인했으며 양국간 긴밀한 협력방안 등을 논의한 것으로 전해졌다.
앞서 미국 백악관도 대변인 성명을 통해 당선 축하메시지를 내며 "미국과 한국 동맹, 우리의 경제와 국민들은 철통같다. 바이든 대통령은 새로운 대통령 당선인과 계속 협력해 우리의 긴밀한 협력을 더욱 확대하길 기대한다"고 밝혔다.
