국민의힘 박성효 전 대전시장이 15일 제8회 전국동시지방선거 예비후보에 등록하고 본격적인 선거운동에 들어갔다.
지난해 12월 대전선대위 공동선대위원장을 맡아 3개월여 윤석열 대통령 당선을 위한 긴 레이스를 펼치고, 이제 ‘새로운 대전’이라는 목표를 위해 나선 것이다.
박 예비후보는 이날 오전 10시 대전시선거관리위원회를 찾아 관련 서류를 제출하고 대전광역시장 예비후보 등록을 마쳤다.
그는 이 자리에서 “우선 지난 대선 대전 전 지역에서 윤석열 후보 승리라는 감격적인 선택을 해주신 시민들께 다시 한번 깊이 감사드린다”며 “오는 6월 1일 지방선거에서도 저희 국민의힘 후보들에게 더 큰 관심과 지지를 부탁드린다”고 당부했다.

특히 “윤석열 대통령 당선인이 약속한 방위사업청 이전, 과학수도 육성, 제2대덕연구단지 조성, 지역은행 설립, 경부선·호남선 철도 도심구간 지하화, 대전세종경제자유구역 지정 등 대전발전을 위한 획기적 사업들을 차질 없이 추진하기 위해서는 무엇보다 시정에 대한 깊은 이해와 경험, 전문성을 갖춘 사람이 필요하다”고 경험과 인물론을 부각했다.
