김영환 전 과학기술부장관-전 국회의원은 18일 페이스북에 올린 글에서 “4년 전에 도전한 경기도지사 선거에 나가고 싶다”고 밝혔다.
김영환 전 의원은 이 글에서“대통령 당선자의 특별고문으로 임명받은 지금 내게 남은 꿈은 무엇인가? 우선 나는 4년 전에 도전한 경기도지사 선거에 나가고 싶다. 나는 경도 안산에서 6번 출마하였고 고양시에서 한번 경기도지사 선거에서 한번 출마하여 강남-강북에 연고를 가지게 되었다. 대장동사건을 포함한 성남FC사건 형의 정신병원 입원문제 등 4년 전에 내가 제기했던 문제들을 결자해지 하고 싶다.”고 강조하고 “그러나 내가 이런 도전을 한다면 나라에 조금이라도 유익이 되고 당과 윤석열 당선자에게도 도움이 되어야 한다. 김영환의 경기도의 꿈이 대한민국이 성장의 박동을 힘 있게 뛰게 하고 청년들이 창업의 용광로가 되어 희망의 풀무질을 할 수만 있다면 나는 기꺼이 이 일에 내 몸을 던져보고 싶다.”고 피력했다.
