세종시의회교육안전위원회는 17일과 18일 양일간 ‘지방교육재정교부금 축소 반대 촉구 건의안’ 1건과 조례안 16건, 2022년도 제1회 추가경정 예산안을 심사했다.
시의회는 17일에 열린 교육안전위원회(이하 교안위) 제1차 회의에서 조례안 및 건의안을 심의‧의결했다.
박성수 의원이 발의한 ‘지방교육재정교부금 축소 반대 촉구 건의안’에는 최근 정부에서 논의 중인 교육재정교부금 축소․개편에 반대하며 단순 학생 수 감소를 재정축소의 논리로 삼아서는 안 된다는 비판의 목소리가 담겼다.
아울러 신중하고 다양한 변수를 고려해 미래 세대를 위한 교육재정에 대해 다각적으로 고민해야 한다는 입장을 표명한 건의안을 원안 가결했다.
또 박성수 의원이 대표 발의한 ‘세종특별자치시교육청 교육안전 기본 조례안’ 등 조례안 8건이 원안 가결됐으며 조례에서 규정한 사업 등의 실행력을 높여 제도 시행의 실효성을 강화하기 위해 조문을 정비하는 등 조례안 8건이 수정 가결됐다.
18일에는 세종시교육청과 세종시청 시민안전실 소관 2022년도 제1회 추가경정예산안을 심사했다.
세종시교육청 소관 2022년도 제1회 추가경정예산안은 기정예산 대비 24억원이 증액된 8,728억 35만원 규모다.
교안위는 코로나19 오미크론 확산에 대비해 새 학기 학교 방역의 안정적 지원을 위해 신속항원검사 키트 구입과 학교 방역 인력 운영 등 방역사업비와 교육회복 지원비 및 예비비 등을 증액한 추가경정 예산안을 원안 가결했다.

교안위 위원들은 심의 과정에서 현재 코로나로 어려운 상황을 극복하기 위해 적기에 예산이 집행되고 사업 전반을 두루 살펴 부족함 없이 추진될 수 있도록 신경 써 줄 것을 주문했다.
또, 금강 자연성 회복 선도사업을 추진하는 과정에서 환경단체와 지역민, 전문가 자문을 얻어 퇴적층에 대한 현황 조사를 기반으로 사업을 충실히 진행할 것을 당부했다.
