[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산시와 한국원자력산업협회가 공동 주최하는 2026 부산국제원자력산업전이 오는 22일부터 24일까지 벡스코에서 열린다. 이번 전시회는 소형모듈원자로(SMR)를 비롯한 최신 원자력 기술과 산업 동향을 공유하고, 국내외 기업의 판로 개척과 협력 확대를 지원하는 대규모 산업 플랫폼으로 주목받고 있다.
국내외 130개 기업 참여, 글로벌 원전 산업 한자리에
올해 전시회에는 한국수력원자력, 한전케이피에스(KPS), 한국전력기술, 두산에너빌리티 등 국내 주요 공기업과 대기업은 물론, 미국의 웨스팅하우스, 프랑스의 오라노와 프라마톰, 캐나다의 앳킨스리알리스 등 세계적인 원전 기업들이 대거 참여한다. 총 19개국 130개 기업이 420개 부스를 운영하며 국제 행사로서 위상을 한층 높였다.
다양한 특별관 통해 산업 경쟁력 집중 조명
전시장에는 부산시 공동관을 비롯해 해외바이어 통합관, 초격차 스타트업관, 원자력 연구개발 성과전시관 등 다양한 특별관이 마련된다. 부산시 공동관에는 부산시, 부산테크노파크, 한국생산기술연구원, 한국기계연구원 4개 기관과 지역 원전기업 8개사가 참여해 기술과 지원 사업을 소개한다. 해외바이어 통합관은 중소기업의 글로벌 진출을 위한 실질적인 정보와 상담을 제공한다.(8개사: ㈜카디넥, ㈜대창솔루션, ㈜이지에버텍, ㈜세종기술, ㈜케이에스텍, 라토즈㈜, ㈜코어로보틱스, 유진코메탈). 또한 초격차 스타트업관에서는 유망 기업의 혁신 기술을 선보이고, 연구개발 성과전시관에서는 산학연 협력 성과를 공유한다.
‘해외바이어 통합관’은 중소기업들에 해외시장동향과 판매회사(벤더) 등록 절차 안내, ‘초격차 스타트업관’에서는 초격차 스타트업 육성사업의 사업 상담 및 선정기업들의 기술·제품 등을 전시, 원자력 연구개발(R&D) 성과전시관은 한국수력원자력 등 13개 산학기관의 우수 연구 성과물 소개 등을 제공한다.
비즈니스 기회 확대 위한 실질적 프로그램 운영
그리고 동반성장사업설명회, 전력 및 원자력 기자재 구매상담회, 해외바이어 초청 수출상담회, 체코 두코바니 원전사업설명회 등 다채로운 부대행사도 준비되어 있다.
‘동반성장사업설명회’는 한국수력원자력, 한전케이피에스(KPS), 한국전력기술, 한전원자력연료, 한국원자력산업협회 5개 기관이 참여하여 기관별 동반성장 사업계획, 유자격 공급자등록 절차, 해외인증 및 취득지원 안내 등에 대한 발표를 진행할 예정이다.
‘전력 및 원자력 기자재 구매상담회’에서는 한국수력원자력(월성, 한울, 고리, 새울, 한빛) 5개 본부와 한전케이피에스(KPS), 한국전력기술, 동서발전, 남부발전 등 전력 공기업이 참여, 중소 기자재 업체와 주요 기업 구매 담당자들 간 일대일(1:1) 상담을 진행해 중소기업 제품 및 기술홍보, 유자격등록 및 구매절차 안내 등 국내 판로 개척의 기회를 제공할 예정이다.
‘해외 바이어 초청 수출상담회’에서는 16개국 51개사 해외 바이어와 국내기업과의 일대일(1:1) 상담 기회를 제공하고, ‘체코 두코바니 원전 사업설명회’에서는 국내 원전기업들에게 체코 두코바니 원전 사업내용을 소개하고 질의응답 시간을 가질 계획이다.
국제 학술행사 동시 개최로 산업 교류 확대
이번 전시회는 인공지능 시대를 여는 원자력을 주제로 한국원자력연차대회와 태평양연안국 원자력회의가 함께 열린다. 특히 태평양연안국 원자력회의는 2012년 이후 14년 만에 국내에서 개최되는 행사로, 세계 전문가들이 모여 원자력 산업의 미래를 논의하는 장이 될 전망이다.
이번 전시회는 '인공지능(AI) 시대를 여는 원자력'을 주제로 '2026 한국원자력연차대회'와 '제25차 태평양연안국 원자력회의'가 동시 개최된다. 특히, '태평양연안국 원자력회의'는 2012년에 이어 14년 만에 우리나라에서 다시 개최되는 뜻깊은 자리로, 세계 각국의 전문가들이 한자리에 모여 원자력의 미래 발전 방향을 모색하는 국제적 교류의 장이 될 전망이다.
시민 참여 행사로 대중 이해도 제고
또한 ‘제2회 한국원자력산업협회(KAIF) 에너지 골든벨’이 ‘2026 한국원자력연차대회’의 부대행사로 개최된다. 시민을 대상으로 원자력에너지 분야의 퀴즈 대회를 진행하며, 총상금 520만 원을 비롯해 노트북, 워치 등의 푸짐한 경품이 마련될 예정으로 시민들의 원자력에 대한 이해도와 관심을 높이는 계기가 될 것으로 전망된다.
박형준 시장은 “이번 전시회를 통해 한국을 비롯한 세계 원자력 관계자들과 소형모듈원자로(SMR) 등 원자력산업의 최신 기술과 유행(트렌드)을 공유하고, 관련 기업에 국내·외 판로 개척 등의 다양한 기회를 제공할 것으로 기대한다”라며, “인공지능(AI) 시대에 앞서가기 위하여 원자력산업육성계획 수립, 소형모듈원자로(SMR) 보조기기 제작지원센터 준공 등 원자력산업 육성 및 발전을 위해 앞으로도 최선을 다할 것"이라고 전했다.

The 2026 Busan International Nuclear Industry Exhibition, jointly hosted by the Busan Metropolitan Government and the Korea Atomic Industrial Forum, will be held at BEXCO from April 22 to 24. The exhibition is drawing attention as a large-scale industry platform that showcases the latest nuclear technologies, including small modular reactors (SMRs), while supporting market expansion and global partnerships for participating companies.
130 Companies from Around the World Gather in One Place
This year’s exhibition features major domestic public corporations and large enterprises such as Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, KEPCO KPS, Korea Electric Power Engineering Company, and Doosan Enerbility. They are joined by leading global nuclear firms including Westinghouse (U.S.), Orano and Framatome (France), and AtkinsRéalis (Canada). A total of 130 companies from 19 countries are participating, operating 420 booths and further elevating the event’s international standing.
Special Pavilions Highlight Industry Competitiveness
A range of special pavilions will be set up, including the Busan Pavilion, Overseas Buyer Pavilion, Super-Gap Startup Pavilion, and Nuclear R&D Achievement Pavilion.
The Busan Pavilion brings together four institutions—Busan Metropolitan Government, Busan Techno Park, Korea Institute of Industrial Technology, and Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials—along with eight local nuclear-related companies to showcase technologies and support programs.
The Overseas Buyer Pavilion provides practical guidance on global market trends and vendor registration procedures for small and medium-sized enterprises. The Super-Gap Startup Pavilion presents innovative technologies from promising startups, while the Nuclear R&D Achievement Pavilion highlights outstanding research成果 from 13 industry-academia-research institutions, including Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power.
Practical Programs to Expand Business Opportunities
A variety of side events are planned, including a Shared Growth Program Briefing, Power and Nuclear Equipment Procurement Consultation, Export Consultation with Overseas Buyers, and a briefing on the Dukovany Nuclear Power Plant project in the Czech Republic.
The Shared Growth Program Briefing will feature five organizations—Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, KEPCO KPS, Korea Electric Power Engineering Company, KEPCO Nuclear Fuel, and the Korea Atomic Industrial Forum—introducing their cooperation plans, supplier registration procedures, and support for overseas certification.
At the procurement consultation session, major power companies and five KHNP headquarters (Wolsong, Hanul, Kori, Saeul, and Hanbit), along with KEPCO KPS, Korea Electric Power Engineering Company, Korea East-West Power, and Korea Southern Power, will hold one-on-one meetings with SMEs. These sessions aim to promote products and technologies, and provide guidance on registration and purchasing procedures.
The export consultation event will connect domestic firms with 51 overseas buyers from 16 countries. Meanwhile, the Dukovany project briefing will offer insights into the Czech nuclear power project and include a Q&A session for Korean companies.
International Conferences to Enhance Global Exchange
Under the theme “Nuclear Energy Powering the AI Era,” the exhibition will be held alongside the 2026 Korea Nuclear Annual Conference and the 25th Pacific Basin Nuclear Conference.
In particular, the Pacific Basin Nuclear Conference returns to Korea for the first time in 14 years since 2012, bringing together global experts to discuss the future direction of nuclear energy and foster international collaboration.
Public Engagement Programs to Raise Awareness
As part of the event, the 2nd KAIF Energy Golden Bell quiz competition will be held in conjunction with the annual conference. Open to the public, the quiz event aims to enhance understanding and interest in nuclear energy, offering total prize money of 5.2 million KRW along with various rewards such as laptops and smartwatches.
Commitment to Advancing the Nuclear Industry
Busan Mayor Park Heong-joon stated that the exhibition will serve as an opportunity to share the latest trends and technologies, including SMRs, with global nuclear stakeholders, while helping companies expand into domestic and international markets. He also emphasized the city’s commitment to fostering the nuclear industry through initiatives such as establishing a comprehensive development plan and completing a support center for SMR auxiliary equipment manufacturing.
