고양시가 새마을성동취락(중로3-142호선) 도로개설공사를 준공하고 행주내동 도로공사 현장에서 지난 21일 준공식을 개최했다.
이날 준공식에는 이재준 고양시장, 이길용 특례시의장, 한준호 국회의원, 지역주민 등 150여명이 참석했다.

「새마을성동취락(중로3-142호선) 도로개설공사」는 2006년도에 도시계획시설로 결정됐다.
행주산성과 먹거리촌, 주거지역을 연결하는 주요 도로임에도 불구하고 도로 결정 후 약 15년 동안 미개설되어 지역주민들은 오랜 시간 불편함을 호소해왔다.
이에 시는 2018년 손실보상을 시작해 2021년 7월에 공사를 추진, 2022년 3월에 공사를 완료했다.

현재 해당 도로는 개통이 완료된 상태다.
시 관계자는 “행주내동 일원은 도로 등의 기반시설이 미흡해 주민들의 소외감이 큰 상황이었다”고 밝히며 “앞으로도 교통 소외지역의 도로 환경을 개선하기 위해 최선을 다하겠다”며 장기간 공사로 인해 불편함을 감내한 지역주민들에게 감사를 전했다.
한편 이날 지역주민들은 이재준 고양시장에게 도로개설사업에 대한 감사패를 전달했다.
