대전시의회 권중순 의장이 24일 유성구 금남구즉로 1234 소재 대전반려동물공원 준공식에 참석해 준공을 축하하고, 관계자들을 격려했다.
이날 준공식에는 권중순 의장을 비롯해 허태정 대전시장, 설동호 교육감, 대전시의회 김찬술 산업건설위원장과 남진근 의원, 구본환 교육위원장, 반려동물 관계자 및 시민 등 50여명이 참석했다.
준공식은 개식선언 및 국민의례, 참석내빈 소개, 사업경과보고, 감사패 및 표창장 수여, 인사말과 축사, 테이프 커팅식, 기념수 식수, 시설순람 순으로 이어졌다.
권중순 의장은“최근 반려동물 인구 1500만명 시대가 되면서 반려동물에 대한 관심이 증가하고 있지만 아직 반려동물을 위한 제도나 인프라가 부족한 실정”이라며“앞으로 대전반려동물공원을 통해 성숙한 반려동물 문화가 확산되고 더 나아가 사람과 반려동물이 모두 행복한 사회를 만들기 위해 시의회차원에서도 함께 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
한편 대전반려동물공원은 유성구 금고동 3만㎡ 부지에 연면적 2천408㎡ 규모인 반려동물 문화센터와 야외훈련장·대형견·중형견·소형견 동물놀이터(5천985㎡) 등으로 조성됐다.
오는 4월 1일부터 5월 31일까지 야외 동물 놀이터 잔디 활착 및 시설 가동 등 점검을 위해 임시운영기간을 갖고, 6월 1일부터 정상 개장될 예정이다.

Meanwhile, Daejeon Pet Park was built on a site of 30,000 square meters in Geum-dong, Yuseong-gu, with a companion animal culture center with a total floor area of 2,408 square meters, an outdoor training ground, and a playground for large, medium-sized and small dogs (5,985 square meters).
From April 1 to May 31, the outdoor animal playground will have a temporary operation period to check the lawn and facility operation, and it is scheduled to open normally from June 1.
